Communication is eighty percent of everything we do every day. What this means is that out of the 70,000 thoughts we think every day, about 56,000 thoughts are focused on how we communicate to the world around us. We use our human senses to get this one. We use ‘purpose’ to communicate with the people closest to us at home and at work. Purpose is our shared belief in the future. We use ‘value’ to communicate with everyone else. Value is our measurable contribution to the world. Both purpose and value define everything that we do.

A Community is a group of people who agree to grow together. Simon Sinek tells us this. Community is everything for us right now. Our lives today revolve around local and digital communities that oversee our daily lives. The best ones follow the same three principles. Connect first as a group. Engage with one another as a team. Grow together as a community. Communities we know achieve this through a shared horizon, collective values & an abiding sense of togetherness. Indeed, our idea of community is taking new shape in the cocoon of the global pandemic lockdown. We should wait for it to unfold its wings. For in it, lies the Butterfly Effect we have all been waiting for.

Purpose is our shared belief in the future. It runs strong through the countries, companies and communities of our world. The greatest among these collectives do three notable things — every single day. They inform their people. They involve their people. They inspire their people. Purpose leads people to greatness. During times of triumph, it holds up the beacon of hope. During times of trouble, it holds high the torch of resilience. Purpose, most importantly, shares the stories of the summits and valleys on the way to our common horizon.

Value is our measurable contribution to the world. For the longest time, value has been measured in money and its relative terms. Produce profits. Cut costs. Reduce risks. Value is showcased through revenues, net profits, gross profits, EBITDAs, retention rates, measured customer satisfaction and other corporate scores. The new decade ahead shows us new horizons. A good way to start thinking about the new benchmarks of value are: Did it last? Did it grow? Did it spread to benefit the community? The three ‘yeses’ are the measure of your success. The first yes tells you that your idea has taken root. The second measures its fruitfulness. The third amplifies its impetus, influence and impact on its communities around our world.

A solution is a lasting answer to a problem that removes its root cause, creating a better scenario. A problem — by nature — is linked to other challenges around it. So, the solution eventually eliminates other problems around it. The best solutions come, built around a core of ethics and vision. Solutions are affordable, sustainable and become a pivotal part of their communities. We use content — in the form of text, audio, video and lifelike technologies — to communicate the power of solutions we create. Solutions create new landscapes of endeavour & new horizons of achievement for all of us everywhere.
